I decided to start up utaimakuru for two reasons. First, this is a great way for me to put my budding Japanese skills to work. Practice makes perfect, right? Second, I feel like some translations out there stick a little too literally to what's actually on the page. The best ones try to make the translation flow as much as possible, even if it means sticking in a word here or there. That's the kind of translation work I want to do with these songs.
Oh, and one last thing: I'm not gonna run off and translate songs willy-nilly. The songs you see here are ones that mean a lot to me, whether because of lyrical content, melody, or sheer awesomeness. Granted, that probably means I won't take requests, but maybe I'll consider it if you ask really nicely.
